Is it obvious yet that I'm really working on my 2014 Home Goals and making my home look lovely? I hate driving up every evening to a dreary looking home. I imagine a white picket fence, happy flowers, maybe a small water feature in front of the porch, and color.
This weekend was my mom's birthday and I'll tell you what, I think I gave her the best present I've given her in years.....money to put towards making over my dreary front yard. Now before you start laughing at me, let me explain! Her yard is already covered to the brim with flowers and bushes and yard accessories. So starting with a clean slate and given the freedom to go crazy (since all I currently have is one pot of tulips and three rose bushes) she can dream big and make things happen (within reason since we are on a budget after all). So pretty much it's a win-win. She gets to spend time in garden stores and flipping through gardening magazines and she gets to spend my money on what she finds instead of her own.
